6th EBA250 Stakeholders Meeting

The next EBA250 meeting will be held in Brussels on Wednesday, September 25th 2019.

Following the output of the last EBA250 Stakeholder Meeting on January 29th and listening to EBA250 members’ input on how to bridge the gap between financial institutions and businesses, EIT InnoEnergy has since then, with the support of selected financial institutions and industrial partners, designed a Business Investment Platform (BIP) for batteries to accelerate the transactions between investee and investors. The EBA250 Business Investment Platform will be launched and presented in more detail to all stakeholders at the meeting, with some on-going investment cases already in motion. The platform will be open and available to all stakeholders of EBA250.

In the European Battery Alliance, we – the stakeholders – are contributing to set a reference for Europe’s industrial future. Vice President Šefčovič rightly stated “For all these reasons, we see that our efforts under the EU Battery Alliance to build a strategic value chain for batteries in Europe – should and can serve as a pilot for our future industrial policy. The European Council has requested a long-term vision for the end of this year 2019.” Strengthening and completing the ecosystem with all required relevant players is therefore one of the most important topics for EBA250. A key part of the European battery value chain we also want to focus on during the meeting is the Equipment and Tooling Industry.

Finally, as the preparation of the directives on “Ecodesign” and “Batteries” is progressing fast, the European Commission will provide an update on these key regulations relating to “Green Batteries produced in Europe” in the afternoon.
