Europe’s new strategy on battery innovation
EBA250 welcomes the release of a Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda for the EU battery industry.
With the joint publication of a common Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA), by Batteries Europe and BEPA, another milestone for the EU battery industry has been reached. The SRIA has been written as a reference for Industry, Researchers, Associations as well as EU Member States and policy makers in the sector.
The relevance of the document can be summarised as follows:
- Serves as a reference to highlight key technological challenges, promote research and innovation for batteries,
- Guides funding priorities across Europe at European level in Horizon Europe, at the level of Member States and Regions,
- Outlines time-based research and innovation priorities for every part of the battery value chain,
- Maximizes the impact to help put Europe at the forefront of research and innovation in the battery value chain,
- Aligns all the battery stakeholder in Europe through a comprehensive document.
The new Strategic Research & Innovation Agenda for batteries will be presented on March 20th. To join the online launch event and learn more about the Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda, visit this page.
