Altris secures funding, strengthening Europe’s battery value chain with sodium-ion tech
Altris, a pioneering Swedish developer of sodium-ion battery technology, has reached significant milestones that are set to enhance the European battery value chain.
With the successful completion of its Series B1 funding round, raising SEK 150 million (approximately €13.2 million), Altris is well-positioned to expand its production capabilities and market presence. This funding will be instrumental in finalizing the company’s pilot production facility, paving the way for the commercial production of its innovative sodium-ion cathode materials.
The addition of Clarios and Maersk Growth as strategic investors in Altris underscores the transformative potential of its sodium-ion technology. This represents a significant step forward for both the energy transition and Europe’s competitiveness, as it enhances battery production within Europe and strengthens the local supply chain. Altris’ innovative solutions, free from conflict minerals and reliant on abundant European resources, are poised to play a crucial role in reducing dependence on external battery sources and fostering a self-sufficient, sustainable energy future for Europe.
