DG CLIMA invites to a stakeholder workshop on instruments to support battery manufacturing
Following the recent announcement from EVP Šefčovič on the need to support manufacturing of batteries in the EU and the objective to set up a dedicated instrument under the Innovation Fund with funding of up to EUR 3 billion for the next three years, DG CLMA invites to stakeholder workshop on instruments available to support battery manufacturing under the Innovation Fund.
This workshop is a core element of the stakeholder consultation and will be complemented by a dedicated survey (link to the survey will be shared shortly).
The aim of this stakeholder workshop is to present and discuss the instruments available and possible to develop under the Innovation Fund and how they can support battery manufacturing in the EU. Following the presentations from the Commission and the European Investment Bank, the discussion will open on the choice of the best instruments.
As a preparation for this workshop, the participants will be asked to read the options paper published on DG CLIMA’s website. This paper outlines different possible opportunities for Innovation Fund support to the European battery manufacturing industry.
The workshop will take place on 25 April 2024 in a hybrid format (in Brussels and online) from 9:30 to 16:15 (CEST). For more details on the agenda and registration, please visit this page.
