Honda & SNAM expand battery recycling partnership
Europe’s energy transition relies on creating a local, competitive and sustainable battery value supply chain to decarbonise its transport, power and industrial sectors. As battery volumes are forecasted to grow exponentially, reducing their manufacturing footprint is crucial. Circularity of the European lithium-ion battery industry is therefore high on the agenda, and flourishing. Various collaborations across the value chain have been initiated to integrate the environmental requirements linked to batteries’ end-of-life. The latest example comes from Honda and the French recycling specialist SNAM expanding their partnership on second-life batteries and battery recycling in Europe.
