Nordic Battery Scene: speech from Maroš Šefčovič
Since its launch in 2017, the European Battery Alliance has attracted more than 440 industrial and innovation actors and some 100 billion euros in investment with the objective to build a strong, competitive and sustainable European battery industry.
“But perhaps the biggest success of the EBA is how it has changed the mindset around batteries in Europe. There is now a wider understanding of the essential role of batteries in delivering the EU’s strategic objectives of industrial competitiveness, decarbonisation of the economy and increased resilience and strategic autonomy in critical industrial sectors,” has emphasized by Vice President Maroš Šefčovič in his speech at the occasion of the Nordic Battery Scene webinar last week. Read the full speech here.
The webinar was hosted by Innovation Norway, Eyde Cluster, Confederation of Norwegian Enterprise, Hydro, Sintef and Northvolt in order to discuss:
- Actions to contribute to the ambitions and goals in EU’s New Green Deal
- How cooperation between businesses in Norway and Sweden can add value into the battery value chain, to develop, produce and recycle the world’s most sustainable batteries
The recording of the webinar is available here.
